Welcome to Hampton Roads, Va
Rich in history, brimming with natural
resources and full of economic, cultural and recreational opportunity, Hampton roads is a
diverse, friendly and easy-to-know community comprised of nine cities and two
counties.
It is the nation's 27th
largest Metropolitan Statistical Area and includes Virginia's fastest growing city
(Chesapeake), its most populous (Virginia Beach) and its largest
(Suffolk). Situated in
southeastern Virginia where the Chesapeake Bay meets the Atlantic Ocean, Hampton Roads is
divided between the "Southside" - Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth,
Smithfield, Suffolk and Virginia Beach; and the "Peninsula" - Gloucester,

why the area was recently named the best place to live in the South by
Money magazine. Within this beautiful region, where all
four seasons take their place on the weather map, nearly any lifestyle is possible.
Commuting is a snap. Our mid-Atlantic
location is convenient to the whole East Coast. Recreation, nightlife,
shopping, and culture are thriving. The quality of life here is excellent.
And it's affordable - just take a look at this cost-of-living chart.

Summers, which stretch from May through October, are warm enough for the
beach but not grueling. Winters are cool enough for the fireplace but not
bone-chilling. Spring and fall can be breathtaking.
